It’s time to play!
Pre-K Letter Lab is an opportunity for emergent readers to uncover the joys of reading and writing in a literacy-rich, play-based environment. Robust, research-based instructional practices that support the science of reading and align with upcoming Kindergarten learning standards are delivered through developmentally appropriate games and activities. Foundational reading and writing skills are nurtured via creativity and experimentation with letters and sounds. Pre-K Letter Lab finds the fun in phonics!
Class Types + Descriptions
Play Group Classes
Join our drop-off emergent reader play group, focused on foundational literacy skills in a play-based, phonics-focused environment. Our hour of play will include developmentally appropriate, differentiated hands-on literacy activities that address
Phonemic Awareness (hearing, identifying and manipulating individual sounds)
Phonological Awareness (rhyming, segmenting, and blending sounds)
Letter Recognition & Formation (uppercase and lowercase letters)
We’ll include music & movement as well as vocabulary-focused interactive read alouds in each class. Pre-K Letter Lab is all about finding the fun in phonics!
$275 per 6 week session

Beginning the week of January 12th
Custom Small Groups
For those who can’t make our scheduled play group classes, but have their own small group of 3-6 preschoolers available during a common day/time. Emily will run your custom small play-group covering the same materials as the larger scheduled play group classes during a day/time of your choosing. No need to wait for an enrollment period to sign up. Custom small groups can be coordinated with Emily at any time.

Private Session
One on one targeted instruction tailored to your preschooler’s specific literacy needs. Our hour of play will focus on your preschooler’s individual phonemic, phonological, and letter recognition/formation development. No need to wait for an enrollment period to sign up. Private sessions can be coordinated with Emily at any time.
$75/hour

Not to worry! We have padded in an “invisible” 7th week of class to protect against this and offer makeups, if necessary. Makeups beyond 1 missed class will not be provided.

Pre-K Letter Lab is a *DROP OFF* playgroup, but students will be able to tell you all about what they worked on after their visit!

There is a small parking lot in the rear of the building on Eliot Street, and street parking on Central Ave. Please enter the building from the front door on Central Ave.

Winter Playgroups will begin the week of January 12th on Mondays, Thursdays, or Fridays from 1-2pm. Feel free to reach out at any time if you’d like to set up a custom small group or individual 1-on-1!
